Bibliography Generator turns a pile of reference details into one reviewable list. Add sources through a form or paste existing BibTeX, then see formatting and validation in the same workspace.

  • you are assembling several references before a project exists;
  • you received BibTeX from different catalogs and want one place to inspect it;
  • you need a formatted bibliography and a .bib file from the same source data.

For one identifier, a focused DOI, ISBN, PubMed, or arXiv tool is faster. For a project library with duplicates and inconsistent fields, use the reference-library cleaner.

  1. Open Bibliography Generator, or run /bibliography-generator.
  2. Choose Add reference to enter structured fields, or Edit BibTeX to paste entries.
  3. Add each record and fix any validation message shown below the editor.
  4. Choose a citation style and inspect the formatted bibliography.
  5. Copy the formatted text or save references.bib.

The structured editor supports articles, books, chapters, conference papers, and miscellaneous sources. Authors can be separated with semicolons; Oleafly writes the BibTeX and form for you.

Validation catches parse problems, required fields, and duplicate citation keys. It cannot tell whether an author name, page range, DOI, or publication year is factually correct.

Check records against the source itself. Pay extra attention to capitalization that BibTeX may change, corporate authors, translated titles, online-first dates, and article identifiers used instead of pages.

Manual editing, validation, and formatting stay on your device. The workspace accepts up to 2,000 entries or 1 MB of BibTeX. Split a larger library by project or subject.
