Recent work in Oleafly adds a larger set of focused tools while tightening the everyday writing workflow. This page points to the full instructions rather than repeating a release-note list.

A guide for every Oleafly Tool

The optional LaTeX tools gallery now contains 37 focused tools. You can convert documents between LaTeX, Typst, Markdown, Word, HTML, PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and Mermaid diagrams; build and validate references; search for papers, labs, and deadlines; run statistical calculations; and use small writing helpers.

Each tool now has its own page with its input, steps, example, privacy behavior, limits, and a better route when the tool is not the right fit.

Proofreading that understands source files

Proofreading now combines spelling with Harper grammar and style checks in LaTeX, Typst, and Markdown. It skips source syntax that should not be treated as prose, then lets you replace a finding or ignore it for now, for one project, or everywhere. The academic profile adds checks suited to research writing, and you can disable an individual Harper rule from a finding.

The editor can pair math delimiters, brackets, and environments; continue lists; close the current environment; and complete package-aware commands, references, citations, and project paths. Separate settings let you turn automatic completion, brackets, math, or environment closing on or off.

More reliable references

Citation insertion follows the bibliography declared by the document, including common BibTeX and Biber setups. Library import accepts BibTeX, RIS, EndNote XML, and Zotero RDF. The reference cleaner previews normalized keys and duplicates before changing files, updates citations when keys change, and saves backups. New standalone tools cover DOI, arXiv, ISBN, PubMed, URLs, formatted citations, and eight citation styles.

Import and export across writing formats

Word and HTML documents can become LaTeX, Markdown, or Typst projects. Markdown can become LaTeX or Typst, and Typst can become LaTeX or Markdown. Open projects can export their supported routes to Word, HTML with MathML, Markdown, Typst, LaTeX, plain text, PDF, source ZIP, or a page image. Presentation and book projects can also offer PowerPoint or EPUB.

Simplified Chinese interface

Choose System, English, or 简体中文 under Settings → General → Language. The interface changes immediately, without restarting. This setting controls app labels and messages; document language, proofreading dictionaries, and assistant output remain separate choices.

PDF accessibility and submission checks

Preflight brings compile, layout, references, assets, blind-review, ATS, and accessibility findings into one place. Its PDF/UA section checks a defined machine-testable subset, and its tagged-PDF workflow prepares compatible LaTeX projects for LuaLaTeX. The guide explains which results are definite, which are heuristic, and why a clean run is not formal PDF/UA certification.

TeX package recovery

When a latexmk build reports a missing TeX file, Oleafly can find the TeX Live package that owns it, install that package, and compile again. The package manager can also search the full TeX Live catalog and shows whether a package lives in the system or personal tree.

Settings → Help & About now carries a ready-to-copy BibTeX entry for Oleafly. From an open project, Cite Oleafly in this paper can add the entry to the bibliography the document uses.

Release notes and updates

Read version-by-version changes on GitHub Releases. In the app, open Settings → Help & About to check for updates. App updates explains the update process.
